Well, we finally got to go camping! We went out to Lawson's Landing, right next to Dillon Beach, for a few days to get out of the smoke and the heat. What a wonderful trip! The weather was perfect - sunny with a light ocean breeze for 3 days. We went with our friends, the Cobabes, which was fun for Ben and I and heaven for the kids. Ok, heaven for me too since all 3 of the girls were busy and happy for 3 days straight, and because I LOVE the ocean. It draws me. I want to watch the waves break for hours and then I want to get in and feel them and it's hard not to keep wading out deeper and deeper and then swimming out. It's exciting and mesmerizing at the same time. There was no danger of getting too deep this trip - the water was pretty chilly. We did see a seal poke his head up a few times, and of course I didn't think to get out the camera. Other than walking out to the beach a few times and crabbing one morning, we mostly sat around chatting and eating, and took turns trekking to the bathroom with all the little girls. Boys definitely have the advantage when it comes to camping toilet issues.
Sadie sat down to wait for me at the potty by the dock. She looked so cute I couldn't resist.

Ben and the girls at the dock where we went crabbing - we caught lots of dungeness, but they weren't in season, so no crab dinner.
Dillon Beach - just over a couple dunes from our campsite. When we walked out there after setting up camp the first evening Brad was explicit with his kids that there would be no getting wet. When he told Brea to quit getting dirty in the sand I realized it was time to play in the waves :)

At our campsite - the stroller was very popular.

Ben with the babies - our Liberty and Brad and Connie's Kaelyn (did I spell it right, Connie?)
More Dillon Beach at sunset.
